NO SEW: Burlap Pillowcase Tutorial

I have an obsession with pillows.

Truth be told here and here.
I’ve noticed a screen print trend out there,
so I took the easy route…
My {NO SEW} Burlap “You & Me” Pillow Tutorial
Supplies:
18″x18″ burlap squares
liquid stitch
Black Fabric Pen
Stencils (as used for another DIY here)
pillow insert
ball point pen
1. To begin, trace your words as you want them to appear onto one piece of your burlap square with a ball point pen.
2. Using your black fabric pen, you will then go over your letters and fill in each letter. These pens work GREAT with burlap. They don’t run at all.
You will then have this…
3. Next, you want to trace the perimeter of 3 sides of your square with liquid stitch (this stuff works like a charm). Be generous with it as it dries completely CLEAR.
and then glue your two 18″ squares together.
{You will leave one side open for your pillow insert.}
4. Let the 3 sides dry for approx ONE hour before stuffing your pillow.
5. Once dry, you will stuff your pillow case with a 18″ square pillow insert. Pottery Barn sells them here for $12.
6. You will then run liquid stitch onto your open section and glue shut.
That’s it!

You can stencil any saying that speaks to you! I needed throw pillows for my NEW bed (revealed SOON), so this was perfect!
Happy Crafting!
