{preschool snow day}
“Oh my gosh, I slept through my alarm. It’s 8:00 am and you have to be at school in 30 minutes…get up quick”.
I jumped out of bed, threw on the first clothes I saw, and pleaded with Landyn to NOT fight me in getting ready. Just MAYBE we could still manage to get to school on time.
Despite an obedient toddler (a little candy bribery never hurt anyone), she still managed to knock over a water bottle on our way out the door and spill the ENTIRE contents onto my carpet and herself.
Late we were.
This is how my day started. And as many moms know, days like this happen more often than not. Even if you jump out of bed at the first buzz of your alarm clock, there is something that is bound to set you back when kids are involved.
The first two years of Landyn’s life, I used to let these little set backs get to me. A morning temper tantrum was a sure’s bet way to ruin my ENTIRE day, for it set a presidence of what was to come. But the more I grew into myself as a mom and really embraced the ropes of parenting, the more I learned how to let it go. The more I brushed off spilled milk on my couches or sticky fingerprints on my walls, the better off we both were. With parenting comes curve balls, and once I accepted the unprecdibility that children bring, is when I really started to enjoy my role as her momma.
While this little face can be unpredictable at times, I’ve found that a steady routine, organization, and time spent are always on your side. Each family is different and what works for one may not work for the next, but once you find a flow of balance, your life as a parent is so much easier. That I can promise you.
We may have showed up to preschool drop off today a few minutes late, but we made it. It’s learning to brush off the little setbacks and find humor in the day to day that makes all the difference. Oh and the imaginary metal I put around my neck at the end of some days because darn it I rocked this mommy thing today... yeah that happens too. Mommas with multiples, how do you do it? Your truly my hero.

You go girl. Can’t cry over spilled milk, I mean water. Just block these things out as there will be many of days like this. I always laid out everything the night before just for mornings like this. You are getting the hang of this as time goes by but I think you are doing great.
I have had many days like this! Oh well, nobody said we were perfect
Such a good message. I try to remember this too every day!
I really, really enjoyed this post lindsay!!! I too struggle ao much with the daily setbacks! Even with the 2 toddlers I am struggling so throwing a newborn on top I am seriously hoping I can learn to be at peace with whatever the situation is! Landyn is so cute in her winter gear!
When I was her age I loved to go tobogganing.
i am not looking forward to when austin starts daycare! im sure there will be a ton of setbacks~
