Every morning without fail this little face sneaks into my bed about 7 am. It goes down the same way everyday. She cuddles up next to me with her bright eyes and asks to watch “wheels on the bus” on my iPhone. Me, tangled up in sheets and rubbing my eyes, leans over to my night stand, grabs my iphone, googles “wheels on the bus”, and hands it over, guaranteeing another 5 minutes of shut eye. But today was different. Today, rather than rolling over back to sleep, I focused on the right now. I laid there, and I soaked every last bit of her up.
It’s so easy to get caught up in day to day life, and forget to soak in the little moments. The moments where she cuddles up next to me and watches her favorite sing along because thats her happy place, or when she comes into the bathroom as I’m getting ready and says “mommy you are so pretty”… I’ll never get these moments back.

This little girl made me a momma. She gave me a title that forever changed the way I view life. She stretched my heart in a way I never knew possible. She softened me. She taught me compassion and selflessness. She taught me about love. She holds me accountable on a daily basis.
What a gift.
