LOVE for a small town

The past weekend was a whirlwind for me.

Not only did I visit my best friend,

but I got a taste of a different way of life.

A life where things run a little different.

The small town life.

I have hinted before,

but you’ll hear it again…

My heart secretly yearns for this lifestyle.

Something different than what I’ve always known.

A place where REAL seasons exist.

A place that moves a tad bit slower.

I want Landyn to experience this life.

I want her to know something other than bathing suits and flip flops year round.

To wear coats, run through piles of leaves, and know Friday Night Lights.

To horseback ride in her backyard.

To experience a snow day.

To have a porch swing.

See the beauty in small town architecture.

Drive down an old dirt road.

A place where money isn’t priority and life is simple.

People are more conservative. Hearts are protected.

My "Model" Home…

THIS particular mentor mom,
has a LOVE for Jesus that radiates onto all she speaks too.
Her energy is contagious!
It’s homes like this,
that I strive to model.
Its homes like this that set a precedence for what I want MY home to be like.
Homes where you walk in and feel like your getting a great big hug.
Laughter is welcome. Love is guaranteed.
I am thankful for these women in my life.
This ministry that I am a part of that has me striving for greatness. What does your “Model” home look like?
{I am feeling a tad insecure about my MESSY, UNORGANIZED house…
I’ve spent the past two days deep cleaning and redecorating}

My model home tour and a Winner!

There is a community up the freeway from where we live called “Dos Vientos Ranch”. It falls within Thousand Oaks city limits, but really it is a town of it’s own nestled in between the Santa Monica Mountains. It is your picture perfect utopia. It continues to be developed and there is a new track of homes called the Sedona. My blogger friend Val, and fellow Dos Vientos resident, suggested I go check these new model homes out. Well I followed her lead, and I am smitten. Oh my stars! This may just take priority over my dream house on the beach. I have a love for Spanish architecture and these developers did not miss a thing.
Starting at just $1.5 million, a girl can wish right?
I did take pictures of the gorgeous designs and I plan on taking some of their decor leads.
**NOTE, these are ALL blurry I phone pictures. You can go here to get the full experience and take a virtual tour. Be prepared, it just might take your breath away**
